Call For Posters
The International Scientific Conference of the Rainha Njinga a Mbande University (ISC.URNM) is a biennial multidisciplinary event, established in 2023 and hosted by URNM. For this second edition, the conference remains dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge R&D, policy innovation, and exhibitions centered on Angola’s national development challenges.
ISC.URNM provides a rigorous two-day, six-track forum designed to foster collaboration between academics, industry leaders, and policymakers. To maximize global reach and engagement, the conference will be held in a hybrid format, facilitating both in-person and virtual oral presentations.
We invite authors to submit posters detailing innovative concepts, groundbreaking results, and real-world applications within the following tracks:
- Track 1: Health, Biomedical Sciences, and National Health System Strengthening
- Track 2: Medicinal Plants, Biodiversity, and Indigenous Knowledge Systems
- Track 3: Engineering and Technology for Food Security
- Track 4: Leisure, Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change
- Track 5: Education and Digital Transformation
- Track 6: Culture, Identity, Heritage, and Social Dynamics in Africa
Poster submissions: May 15 to July 30, 23:59-Luanda Time ( via online OJS platform to be available by May 15 )
Submission Guidelines
- Scope and Relevance
Authors are encouraged to submit studies that address Angolan national development challenges or demonstrate clear adaptability to such contexts. Successful submissions must explicitly state the work’s relevance to the conference scope, align with one of the three conference tracks, and address a specific concern within the Angolan development framework.
- Evaluation Criteria and Originality
Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, significance, clarity, relevance, and technical correctness. Works should not necessarily to be original in terms of unpublished nor currently under review by any other publication or conference.
- Anonymization (Double-Blind Review)
This conference employs a double-blind review process. Authors must make a good-faith effort to anonymize their manuscripts by removing all personal identifiers, including names, affiliations, and acknowledgments that might reveal their identity.
- Language and Format
- A poster scale model is a project and may be submitted in either English(preferred) or Portuguese
- Presentations: The presentation itself may be delivered in both languages.
- Templates: there is no template for the poster projects. However, they must adopt a classic structure of a academic poster.
- File Format: All projects must be submitted in PDF format, A4, freestyled through the online submission system. The authors of the accepted projects will be invited to finalize it and print in, vinyl material, with additional graphical elements to be instructed before the event.
- Selection and Publication
- Poster Presentations: The top 4 projects per track.
- Proceedings: Abstracts of all accepted projects will be included in the official conference proceedings.
- Ethics and AI Policy
- Human Subjects: Studies involving human subjects or non-public personal data must describe the ethical protocols followed and indicate whether the work received Institutional Review Board (IRB) or ethics committee approval.
- AI Usage: The use of Generative AI is permitted only when it complies with established ethical standards. However, the detection of excessive use of generative AI, even for translation purposes, will result in immediate disqualification.
